Electric Sun: Original Painting

Electric Sun is an abstract interpretation of a bright summer sky, created in acrylic on canvas with a hand-embroidered zari sun.

Layers of blue textures move across the canvas like shifting clouds, while the woven copper-toned sun creates a warm, tactile composition at the centre of the composition. The canvas captures the intensity and stillness of a hot Goan summer sky.

The work is part of Nasya Pereira’s ongoing exploration of Goa through memory, place and imagined fragments of its past.
